Walks
There are some lovely walks in Somerset close to our accommodation in Yeovil. Alternatively, if you wish to venture slightly further towards the Jurassic Coast, you can discover some spectacular walks in Dorset and follow coastal paths that offer stunning views. We have listed just a few of our favourites below.

Ham Hill Country Park
Offering incredible views of the South Somerset Moors, Exmoor, and the Mendip Hills, Ham Hill is a 164-hectare (390 acres) country park centred on a huge Iron Age hill fort. It is a perfect location for walks in Somerset, with many different tracks and routes to follow, allowing you to walk for as long or as little as you wish. There is plenty of free parking, and if you wish to stop for a relaxing drink or pub meal, you can visit the Prince of Wales pub located in the main car park. Unlike many Yeovil hotels, our apartment offers plenty of space to relax and dry off after a day exploring the hills.

Evershot Deer Park
Explore a deer park and follow magical woodland pathways on one of the most scenic walks in Dorset. This is a circular walk which starts in the pretty village of Evershot and takes you through the Melbury Park Estate, where you can look out for fallow, red, and sika deer, as well as grazing sheep. You then enter the picturesque village of Melbury Osmond before heading along woodland paths and through country fields. Walking boots or wellies are recommended, especially through the winter as it does get quite muddy. Click here to find the route for this walk.

Uplyme to Lyme Regis Riverside Walk
The riverside trail from Uplyme into Lyme Regis is a beautiful choice for walks in Dorset. You can park for free in the Uplyme village hall car park and walk along the River Lim into Lyme Regis, a seaside town boasting breathtaking scenery. Its historic Cobb and harbour are iconic features, and you can also fit in some fossil hunting. Find the walk route here.

Eype to Seatown Coastal Path
There are many different coastal walks in Dorset along the Jurassic Coast, including the route from Eype to Seatown (click here for the route). Eype is a hidden gem—a gorgeous beach which always seems quiet even in the height of the summer when so many other beaches in the area become crowded. After a day on the coast, head back to your comfortable self-catering accommodation in Yeovil, Somerset to unwind."
